It's already difficult, in normal circumstances, to differentiate the inner feelings that blur the line between reality, hopefulness and primal hunger. Over the last few months, I've purposely disconnected from some of my feelings in an attempt to be less judgmental and slower in (poorly) reacting to the tensions in my life. I struggle with my marriage and a wife whom I have not seen in a month... a wife who I've seen in person less than a day's worth of time in the last year... a wife whom I still love despite differences.
I need to stabilize my life and make some choices. Clearly the lack of decisions have led me to make that dangerous mixture of hope and dreaminess, craving and desperation, and the mess I am in.
How do I choose now?
For happiness?
For money?
For love?
For safety?
For family?
How do I choose?

Well, sure, I like exotic foods. Why do you ask?
A friend of mine in Malaysia sent me this video he took this summer. His girlfriend is from Sarawak and I guess they were preparing some local dishes. One of them consisted of 'sago worms' which are larvae taken from trees.
Lots of cultures eat insects. I even.... intellectually have a curiosity about trying them. They're supposed to be quite decent to the environment in how they are raised. However, as with most of my meals, I'm really concerned at how it tastes and if I am going to contract any diseases/parasites (if an exotic locale).
"They taste like shrimp once you've fried them. Really. No, really..." said my friend. Okay. Well, the next time I'm in Sarawak, I'll give them a try.... afterall, I like shrimp.
